Our Story

How it all started...

On September 23, 1944, a group of individuals from
the Myrtle School District in Gastonia, NC,
noticed the need for a new church in their community and formed
"The West Gastonia Prayer Band- A Church To Be- If It Be God's Will".
On Sunday, January 7, 1945, during the morning worship service,
Reverend E.L. Spivey delivered a message on "UNITY".
After the service, the church held a conference and, by a unanimous vote, decided to name their organization "Unity Baptist Church".
We are thankful to God for all of His blessings
through the years our church has grown,
but above all, we thank Him for the little Prayer Band that met
on a Saturdayand saw the need of a church in this community.

Expanding the vision...

Our church aims to create a friendly and inclusive community where people can come together
to worship, grow, and serve.
We want to provide a place where individuals
can experience the life-changing power
of Jesus Christ and real transformation.
Our goal is to make a positive impact in our local community and beyond by sharing
a message of hope and redemption.
We are dedicated to serving others,
spreading love, and making a
meaningful difference in the world around us.
Join us as we work towards our vision and strive
to make a lasting impact for the glory of God.

Where we are headed...

Exciting times ahead as our church moves forward!
We are embracing new opportunities to connect, grow, and serve together as a community.
Our commitment to faith, love, and outreach remains strong as we embark on this new chapter.
